We are announcing one more garden day Saturday, September 19, 2020, from 9 am - 1 pm at the Ventura County Resource Conservation District office in Somis (3380 Somis Road, Somis, CA 93066). We need help spreading the remainder of mulch and rock throughout our garden, we know, it's not the "fun" part of gardening, but it is necessary.
As always, we will provide necessary tools, gloves, water, and extra face coverings. The weather is expected to cool down, but PLEASE BRING WATER BOTTLES, we will have extra cups and multiple shaded rest areas to fill up if needed. The following are required:
- Closed-toe shoes
- FACE COVERINGS
Although the event is outdoors, and in a large area we will keep the volunteers capped for the day to ensure social distancing, first come first served basis, walk-ins are welcomed. We will have shade, but please don't forget to pack sunscreen, Water bottle, Hat, etc....
If you are interested in spending some time outdoors, getting your hands dirty, learning a thing or two, socially distant of course, and want to make an impact on your community please RSVP by replying to this email, or contact the District Resource Conservation Specialist Andy Spyrka at
