Kids & Families Together (K&FT) is seeking volunteers to help at our Summer of Ohana Love Gift Away Event on August 8, 2020, for foster/resource, kinship, adopted and birth families served by K&FT. This is a drive-thru event and families do not need to get out of their car, donations will be put in their car/trunk. Families will be provided with gift cards, back to school supplies, new/like-new clothing, shoes, home/holiday decor, and more!
Volunteer opportunity includes:
- Setting up tables, chairs, canopies, and other supplies for event preparation.
- Taking donations out of our storage, organizing/sorting donations on tables for the event.
- Traffic monitors: maintaining the flow of traffic during the event and traffic safety
- Help with checking in families and volunteers.
- Handing out snacks and refreshment to volunteers
- Putting donations in the back of cars participating in the event
- Break down of events with tables, chairs, canopies, supplies, and donations.
- Load storage with supplies, donations, etc.
- May have to lift 5-40 pounds, bending, twisting, and standing.
- No vehicle required.
Volunteer protocol:
- Anyone (staff or volunteers) who has tested positive in the past 14 days or lives with someone who has tested positive in the past 14 days, may not attend this opportunity.
- If you have a fever (or had one in the past 3 days), a dry cough, loss of taste/smell, body aches, or shortness of breath, please do not attend. Assessment questions will be asked the day of the event before you can enter.
- Masks are required; there are no exceptions. If you cannot wear a mask, please wait for future events that may not require them.
- If you do not have a mask, one will be provided. Masks must cover your nose and mouth. The mask must stay on your face for the entire event.
- 6’ physical distance must be adhered to.
- Gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided.
- Minor volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.
- Bathrooms will not available so please plan accordingly.
- Please wear comfortable clothes, sun protection, and close-toed shoes; no sandals.
