Who We Are
Mission: To ensure that every court-dependent child is safe, has permanence, and the opportunity to thrive, supported by a strong, compassionate volunteer advocate.
CASA of Ventura County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for children in the foster care system. They recruit, train, and support community volunteers—known as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs)—who serve as the voice for children in court proceedings, ensuring their best interests are represented. By providing these children with a consistent and caring adult presence, CASA of Ventura County aims to help them navigate the complexities of the legal system and achieve positive outcomes.
What We Do
CASA of Ventura County offers several key services:
-
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs): Trained community volunteers who become sworn officers of the court, representing the best interests of children involved in dependency or delinquency courts.
-
Volunteer Training and Support: Comprehensive training programs equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively advocate for children. Ongoing support ensures volunteers are well-prepared to handle the challenges of their role.
-
Community Outreach and Education: Efforts to raise awareness about the needs of foster children and the importance of advocacy, including information sessions and educational materials.
