Who We Are

Mission: To enhance the quality of life for adults aged 55 and older by providing a welcoming and supportive community center that offers diverse opportunities for social engagement, health and wellness, creative expression, and lifelong learning.

The Active Adult Center offers a wide variety of classes and activities to encourage community involvement, is a County Nutrition Program lunch site, sponsors fitness programs, and is a distribution site for Food Share’s Brown Bag program. Moorpark Active Adult Center offers programs that provide access to health and wellness activities for older adults, including strength training, Building Better Balance class, Arthritis Exercise class, line dance classes, tap dance classes, yoga, and Tai Chi. The Active Adult Center also offers opportunities for creative engagement with a painters’ workshop, gourd art classes, watercolor classes, writers’ group, recorder class and occasional craft classes.

What We Do

The Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is responsible for administering and coordinating the city’s Active Adult Center, which provides ongoing programs and services, as well as special activities, for individuals 55 years of age or older. The Active Adult Center is managed by one full-time Senior Center Supervisor.
