Who We Are
Mission: To deliver loving kindness, support and compassion to seriously ill people and their caregivers through beauty services.
Out of one family’s tragedy, comes hope for others. Homebound by a degenerative neuromuscular disease at age 27, Melissa Marantz Nealy found solace in at-home beauty treatments that “made her feel human again.” Following Melissa’s passing, the Marantz family founded Beauty Bus to help people living with serious illness and their caregivers reconnect to their sense of self and to ease their isolation. Beauty Bus provides complimentary beauty services to seriously ill individuals and their caregivers in homes and at hospitals and social service partners in the greater Los Angeles area.
What We Do
Beauty Bus accomplishes our mission through:
- In-Home Beauty and Grooming Services: Beauty Bus’s core program provides in-home beauty and grooming services, free of charge, to patients whose illness or condition prevents them from accessing a salon or spa and their caregivers.
- Pop-Up Salons: Beauty Bus creates Pop-Up Salons where patients and caregivers receive a variety of complimentary beauty and grooming services in a setting that promotes support and serenity.
- Bag of Beauty Program: Beauty Bus gives complimentary Bags of Beauty filled with pampering products to remind patients and caregivers that they deserve to look and feel beautiful.
