Who We Are

Mission: To preserve and share the wonders of our maritime heritage, highlight our complex interrelationships with the ecology of The Ocean, and showcase people’s creative expressions of everything related to the sea.

The Channel Islands Maritime Museum (CIMM), established in 1991, is a non-profit institution dedicated to preserving and interpreting maritime arts and culture. Located in Oxnard, California, the museum houses an extensive collection of maritime paintings, ship models, and artifacts, offering visitors a comprehensive view of maritime history spanning over 3,000 years. The museum’s mission is to preserve and share the wonders of our maritime heritage, highlight our complex interrelationships with the ecology of the ocean, and showcase people’s creative expressions of everything related to the sea.

What We Do

CIMM offers a variety of services and programs to engage and educate the public:
