Who We Are

Mission: To advocate for evidence-based public policies to reduce the cancer burden for everyone.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the non-profit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society. Dedicated to making cancer a national priority, ACS CAN works tirelessly to influence public policy and legislation to reduce the cancer burden for everyone. Through grassroots efforts and strategic partnerships, they aim to ensure that cancer issues receive the attention and resources they deserve.

What We Do

ACS CAN engages in a variety of initiatives to support its mission:

  • Advocacy: They work with local, state, and federal officials to implement laws and increase funding for proven cancer prevention and early detection measures.

  • Grassroots Mobilization: By mobilizing volunteers and supporters, ACS CAN ensures that lawmakers are held accountable for their actions and commitments related to cancer issues.

  • Policy Development: They develop and promote policies aimed at improving access to quality and affordable health care, including cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment services.
