Who We Are

Mission: To inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.

Girls Inc. is the preeminent girls’ leadership organization equipping girls to reach their 
full potential. We recognize that girls still face significant challenges in our society, and we meet these challenges by helping girls explore and celebrate their strengths, their voices, who they are today and who they will become.Girls Inc.equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent.Girls build confidence and embrace positive decision-making to take charge of their health and well-being and achieve their academic, personal, and career goals.

What We Do

Girls Inc. programs for girls ages 4 ½ to 18 years old focus on science, math, and technology; economic and financial literacy; athletics; health and sexuality; culture and heritage; leadership and advocacy; and media literacy. Girls Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara is a vigorous advocate for girls in the Santa Barbara community, particularly those at high risk in underserved areas. Sixty-seven percent of the girls the organization serves belong to racial and ethnic minority groups; 56% come from families earning $25,000 annually or less, and nearly half are from single parent households.
