Who We Are

Mission: To promote social change to reduce underage and binge drinking, drug abuse, impaired or distracted driving, bullying, suicide, LGBTQ+ advocacy, healthy coping skills, and mental health and well-being among 12 – 25-year-olds in Ventura County using improvisation and interactive performance/workshops with engaging discussion, exploration of issues, and the development of personal and community solutions to these problems.

BRITE (Building Resilience and Inclusion Through Engagement) is a youth development project that promotes social change by engaging youth and young adults, ages 12-25, in advocacy and action around issues they care about.

What We Do

Key Features:

  • Educational Workshops: BRITE offers engaging workshops and interactive performances throughout Ventura County to promote community change regarding prevention of impaired driving, substance abuse, underage and binge drinking, and mental health issues.
  • Youth Engagement: The organization engages young people through writing, art, photography, video production, live performances, social media campaigns, leadership, and spokesperson opportunities.
  • Advocacy Projects: BRITE supports youth groups and clubs, service learning, capstone, community, and individual projects, offering internships, community service hours, and references.
