Who We Are

Mission: To ensure the welfare of animals in Ventura County.

The Humane Society of Ventura County (HSVC) is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to the protection and care of animals throughout Ventura County, California. Since 1932, HSVC has provided a safe haven for animals in need, offering shelter, medical care, and adoption services for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. The organization also plays an active role in advocating for animal rights and welfare through public education and outreach programs. In addition to caring for animals, the Humane Society of Ventura County works to promote responsible pet ownership, provide disaster relief services for pets, and ensure that animals receive the love and attention they deserve.

What We Do

The Humane Society of Ventura County offers a range of services, including animal rescue and sheltering, adoption services, and spay/neuter programs to control pet overpopulation. They provide veterinary care for sheltered animals and offer low-cost vaccination clinics for the community. HSVC also conducts humane investigations and works to prevent animal abuse and neglect by enforcing animal protection laws. Additionally, the organization offers disaster relief services for animals affected by wildfires or other emergencies, helping pet owners during times of crisis. Through their education programs, HSVC promotes responsible pet ownership and raises awareness about animal welfare issues.
