Mission: To eliminate barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and severe sight loss, through empowering education and training programs.
We are Braille Institute, a non-profit that has been positively transforming the lives of individuals with blindness and low vision for over 100 years. We offer a range of programs, classes, and services to thousands of children and adults of all ages and all stages of vision loss. And it is all free, thanks to the generous support of our donors.
What We Do
Braille Institute seeks to reinforce the confidence, self-esteem and dignity of individuals who are visually impaired, enabling them to live, attend school and work as they choose. We offer integrated educational, social and recreational programs and services in an environment of hope and encouragement. Generous donor and dedicated efforts by more than 900 volunteers enable staff to provide training, programs and services without charge.
