Who We Are

Mission: To support the needs of southeastern Ventura County’s residents and businesses.

The Calleguas Municipal Water District (CMWD), established in 1953, is a public agency responsible for providing wholesale water services to southeastern Ventura County, California. Serving approximately 650,000 residents across 19 purveyors, CMWD ensures a reliable supplemental supply of regional and locally developed water in an environmentally and economically responsible manner.

What We Do

Services Provided:

  • Wholesale Water Supply: CMWD delivers treated water to local water agencies, which then distribute it to residents and businesses within their service areas.
  • Infrastructure Management: The district operates and maintains an extensive network of pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations to transport water efficiently throughout the region.
  • Water Quality Assurance: CMWD monitors and ensures the quality of the water supplied, adhering to state and federal standards to provide safe drinking water to the community.
  • Conservation and Sustainability Initiatives: The district implements programs aimed at promoting water conservation and sustainable water use practices among consumers.
