Who We Are

Mission: To close the achievement gap and create opportunities for middle school students, particularly from underserved communities, by providing hands-on learning experiences and mentorship to inspire academic and career success.

Citizen Schools is a national nonprofit organization that partners with middle schools to provide hands-on learning experiences for students, particularly those from underserved communities. The organization offers after-school programs and enrichment opportunities designed to inspire students to succeed academically and pursue higher education and career goals. By engaging students in real-world learning, such as project-based education, Citizen Schools helps them develop critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Through partnerships with schools, educators, and volunteers, Citizen Schools works to close the achievement gap and promote lifelong success for students.
