Turning Point's River Haven is a transitional living program located near the harbor. Our project will mitigate the use of fossil fuels and improve the quality for our residents who have made a commitment to their mental health and recovery, we are installing solar panels and components to power mini-fridges, lights, fans, and phones. We have a prototype that we have been testing for 90 days and all the components ready. We are looking for volunteer teams that will:
1. Climb ladders and bolt a 10 lb solar panels to the roofs of the tiny houses, hook up 2 wires, one positive one negative, that drop down from the panel. You will need to be able to climb up and down a ladder, lift a 10 lb panel and be ok with 8' - 10' heights. We will try to supply drills, safety glasses, and gloves, but it is strongly suggested that you bring your own.
2. Screw battery boxes to the interior of the tiny houses. Please bring a drill. safety glasses and gloves.
3. Cut various lengths of wire to be used to wire up the panels and components with supplied wire cutters. Please bring safety glasses.
