Who We Are

Mission: To help people who experience intellectual/developmental disabilities.

We are a non-profit, whose goal is to create SAFER communities by educating alcohol servers in how to reduce underage access to alcohol, incidents of binge drinking and drunk driving through RBSS Trainings. We also host Be the DD and Win! events. Be the DD and Win! is a designated driver program launched in 2011 and it’s taken hold of the downtown Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Simi Valley nightlife scene in an incredible way. The campaign includes the popular Prize Posse, a group of fun and exciting young people who take to the streets to reward Designated Drivers with prizes and swag, all the while delivering the message that it is cool to Be the DD. Be the DD and Win! events are in Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo AND Simi Valley!

What We Do

Project SAFER (Special Assistance For Emergency Response) helps people who experience intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD). SAFER provides information to Clallam County First Responders. SAFER creates inclusive encounters. Care givers, community partners, family, and individuals provide vital information. SAFER shows ways to help on a form that honors HIPAA guidelines. SAFER helps First Responders communicate, approach, and interact in an emergency. Police, fire, and emergency responders learn ways to best help people who experience intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD).
