United Way of Ventura County's Building Healthy Smiles program addresses oral health disparities and access to care barriers by providing free oral health screenings for youth at local elementary schools.
Volunteer dental professionals MUST have an up-to-date dental/dental hygiene license. Volunteers will be screening kindergarten and 3rd grade students and looking for untreated decay. Screeners will also be making recommendations for molar sealants and/or referring students to seek immediate treatment. All screening materials will be provided to volunteers.
