Volunteers are needed for the National Home Fire Campaign. Across the nation, seven people die in a home fire every single day, and many others are left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Many times, the loss of life in these fires are preventable, and a simple smoke detector could have saved their lives.
Volunteers are needed for Saturday, January 14th in Oxnard, the Red Cross and dozens of community volunteers will step up and provide free smoke alarms and installations to our most at-risk neighbors. Volunteers should meet at 150 Hill Street Street, Oxnard, CA 93030 at 9:00 AM. Volunteers will also educated local families on fire safety and provide free smoke alarm installations for their homes.
There is no experience necessary, all you need to bring is a pair of clothes you can work in, a comfortable pair of walking shoes, and a positive attitude. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers.
