On the second Friday of each month, volunteers gather to sort and prepare donations that Adelante receives from our many partners including FoodShareVC, FoodForwardLA, the Thousand Oaks Farmers Market, Target, and TraderJoes.
After gleaning and sorting, donations are transported to our pantry location on Los Feliz Dr. in the Shadows Apartments.
This is a fun activity for all abilities. Volunteers must be able to stand for at least 30 minutes at a time. Strong backs is a plus but not essential. Large capacity vehicles - trucks, vans, or suv helps too.
We assemble at the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks - 1000 E. Janss Rd. Later in the morning, we will move to the Shadows Apartment location. We ask that you commit to a minimum of 2 hrs.
