Volunteer: COVID-19 CAREGIVERS Various Roles Needed

Here are a few opportunities, including the first two volunteer roles which work remotely from home.   1) List Taker:  Volunteers to follow up on requests.  We estimate it takes approx. 15 minutes to contact a senior over the phone and take their shopping order.  Volunteers will receive an excel sheet with seniors to call and a fillable form to email back to the CAREGIVERS office.  Let us know how much time you have to share.   2) Shop and Drop Volunteers:  Following best practices around COVID-19, assignments may include shopping or pick-up for one or more homebound seniors.  Payment arrangements are made in advance.  Drop off on the porch.  Valid California Drivers License and Insurance required.

CAREGIVERS often receives requests for respite, an arrangement which provides a regular planned interval of relief for a caregiver (usually an elderly spouse or adult child).. A volunteer would provide visiting so that the caregiver may get some things done (in or out of the home) and not worry about their loved one being alone.

Volunteer: Friendly Visitor Volunteers Needed

CAREGIVERS is looking for reliable, compassionate volunteers who can sign up to donate 2-4 hours, once a week, to a homebound senior in their city. We have a special need for volunteers in the Santa Paula area. Volunteers may assist with "neighborly" tasks such as providing a ride to a Dr. or grocery store, or helping out in the home with a bit of light housekeeping, or paperwork. Let us know what you enjoy doing so that we can match you with the right senior. The idea is for you to become friends. Volunteers do not have to drive their senior if they do not wish to.
