Volunteer: Learn Tai Chi then Teach it to SeniorsTai Chi: Moving for Better Balance (TCMBB) is a new exercise class being offered through RSVP, a volunteer recruitment/placement program which also oversees the popular RSVP Bone Builders classes. The eight forms used in TCMBB have been proven through scientific study to improve balance and strength among participants. We are looking for volunteers to train as instructors. No prior experience with Tai Chi is required, although it is preferable. Training consists of visiting one of our classes (in Ventura, Oxnard or Camarillo), completing a three-day class with our master trainers, and practicing the forms before becoming certified. There is no charge for being trained, but we do request a commitment to teach at least two 12-week sessions of the free class once certified. Instructors must be 55 or older to qualify for RSVP. As a Volunteer Instructor you will lead twice weekly 90-minute classes over a 12-week period. Volunteer Instructors co-teach with a partner, allowing flexibility for vacation and personal days. Class size is small and participants are typically seniors. As we do with Bone Builders classes, there is also an emphasis on making friends and connections with others in the class. JOIN US!!
