Who We Are

Mission: To protect life, property, and the environment by providing high-quality emergency services, promoting fire prevention, and enhancing community safety through education and preparedness.

The Oxnard Fire Department (OFD) is dedicated to safeguarding the community through comprehensive emergency and non-emergency services. These services encompass fire suppression, emergency medical services (EMS), surf and ocean rescue, hazardous materials operations, urban search and rescue (USAR), and other public service calls. The department operates eight strategically located fire stations throughout the city, ensuring prompt response to emergencies.

What We Do

In addition to emergency response, the Oxnard Fire Department offers several programs aimed at community engagement and preparedness:

  • Community Outreach & Programs: The department conducts educational initiatives, including fire safety workshops and community events, to raise awareness and promote safety practices among residents.

  • Emergency Management & Disaster Preparedness: The department coordinates preparedness, planning, response, and recovery efforts for disasters, serving the more than 200,000 people who live, work, and visit Oxnard.
