Who We Are

Mission: To grow a community of gardens at their church and, by example, in their neighborhood, yielding healthy local produce.

Community Roots Garden is a community-driven initiative located in Richmond, Virginia, on occupied Pamunkey territory in the Northside area. Established in March 2020, the garden focuses on liberating the land and cultivating free food, embodying the principle of solidarity over charity. The project aims to restore the land and provide fresh produce to the local community.

What We Do

  • Sustainable Agriculture: By cultivating gardens that produce healthy, local produce, Community Roots Garden promotes sustainable farming practices and food security.
