Who We Are

Mission: To provide basic necessities and resources that promote health, well-being and education to Ventura County’s homeless and foster children and families.

Heart 2 Heart, a program of Shelter Care Resources since December 1, 2024, has been supporting families since 2005. Originally focused on kinship caregivers, the program now serves all families caring for children. Our goal is to honor caregivers, create meaningful family experiences, and provide essential goods to help families thrive.

Heart 2 Heart is entirely funded by grants and donations, ensuring families receive the support they need without financial barriers. Through culturally responsive services, we strive to uplift under-resourced populations, particularly Latino families in Ventura County, helping them navigate challenges and achieve stability.

What We Do

Heart 2 Heart provides critical goods and enriching experiences for families caring for children, offering items such as diapers, clothing, school supplies, household essentials, and hygiene products.

We host seasonal events—including Spring Fling, the Backpack Gift Away, Harvest Fest, and Cozy Holiday—where families not only receive essential supplies but also enjoy bonding activities that create lasting memories.

By addressing immediate needs and fostering a sense of community, Heart 2 Heart helps families overcome barriers and build a brighter future.
