Silverado Hospice is looking for volunteers to join our team. Our patient's are terminally ill and in their final stages of life. As a Hospice Volunteer you will be visiting patients in their own homes, Silverado communities or other nursing facilities. You'll be assigned to a patient as close to your home as possible. We need volunteers who are willing to read the paper or a book to the patient, share hobbies, play & listen to soothing music, talk and share stories or just listen to their life stories, bring flowers from a garden, share photos, or just sit quietly and be the gift of presence for them.

Requirements include: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must complete comprehensive training. (Training is free of charge) Must have a Tuberculosis and Drug test. (Free of charge) Commit to at least 2 hrs per week, for 6 month commitment. Ability to deal with death and dying issues comfortably. Good listening and communication skills are a must.
