    Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on March 16, 2010

We need kitchen volunteers to assist with cleaning and cutting fruits and vegetables, preparing meals in advance, serving meals to the men who are part of our program, making sack lunches,

We serve meals (6 times a day) & we need volunteers (no age restriction in place) to help serve on our serving line, man the salad bar during the evening meals, set dining room tables, pour drinks, serve plates, and wait on our lower income families that we serve at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our kitchen staff puts out between 700- 900 meals daily; and all volunteers that are scheduled help assist the kitchen personnel to provide our guests with a hot meal and cold drink.

There is dining room and kitchen clean up involved as well. Along with Holiday meals (mainly our PRE-Thanksgiving banquet held the day before thanksgiving), if interested we need assistance in the "Super Cleaning" done on Saturdays.

Please make sure that you wear long pants, closed toe shoes, DO NOT WEAR flats, and slip on footwear, Long hair must be put up. We require female volunteers to please dress in modest attire, loose clothes and tee shirts work well.

Also we require that anyone using sharp utensils be a minimum of 18 years old. We also ask that there be no fraternizing between our female volunteers when working in the kitchen and dining room along side our male clients who are enrolled in our 9 month recovery program
