Description:
The Community Education Deptartment helps to teach fire safety programs to children, families, and seniors in Ventura County. We attend local fairs and events to promote fire safety. We help to prevent injury to seniors through safety programs.

History:
Established in 1928, the Ventura County Fire Protection District is governed by a Board of Supervisors. The focus of the department during the early years of its existence was primarily on brush fires. As the county became more populated, the scope was broadened to include all type of fires.
