Habitat For Humanity Of Ventura County
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from Ventura County and the world making decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. We invite people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build and renovate houses together in partnership with families in need.
Description:
We partner with families, individuals, churches, businesses, and other organizations to eliminate sub-standard housing. Habitat builds hope within the community and homes in partnership with God's people in need. The ReStore is a building materials thrift store. The proceeds from the store are used to build more houses in our County. We have many different teams as well, like Family Selection, Family Support, and Site Acquisition.
History:
Founded in 1983, Habitat has built 44 homes in our county and repaired over 500 homes. Currently we are building 3 houses in Simi Valley.
