FOOD Share mission "is to alleviate hunger in Ventura County by gleaning, collecting, storing, and distributing surplus donated food to a network of certified charitable organizations that feed those in need."

Description:
FOOD Share searches for surplus food from every possible source. FOOD Share also receives food from America's Second Harvest, the national network of over 200 food banks. Over 100,000 hungry people countywide receive food from FOOD Share. FOOD Share is the emergency food lifeline to Ventura County's children, families and disable, the working poor and disaster victims.

History:
FOOD Share was founded almost 30 years ago by a group of individuals that saw the need and wanted to help the hungry.
