Our mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the Caring Power of Our Communities.
Description:
Since 1945, the United Way has helped Ventura County residents receive valuable health and human services by providing funds to worthy organizations. Although there are United Way organizations in almost every part of the world, each one is governed by its own local board and is completely autonomous from the United Way of America. The United Way of Ventura County is a volunteer-driven organization. This means that individuals volunteer their time and expertise to set and monitor the direction in planning, policy decisions, and financial development of the United Way. Through one yearly campaign, the United Way of Ventura County offers individuals, companies and their employees the opportunity to choose how they want to respond to our community needs. These areas of focus are: Community Care: Donors can choose to have their one gift distributed to 48 health and human service United Way agencies. Targeted Care: Donors can target their contributions to agencies that provide programs in areas such as Youth, Crisis Intervention, Senior and Specialized Services, Basic Needs, and Health Services. Specific Care: Donors can specify a particular UWVC agency or any 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
