World Heritage is a public benefit organization dedicated to fostering cultural enrichment and intercultural understanding through youth exchange programs. World Heritage believes that it is through cultural exchange a greater international understanding is achieved among people and countries.

    Description:
World Heritage is currently looking for local representatives through out the United States to volunteer their time and skills within their community.
Our local representatives make it possible for exchange students to live with a volunteer host family in the United States for one academic year – something that is just a dream for most foreign students. In essence, our volunteers make dreams come true for these students. World Heritage students are excited to learn about the North American traditions and to become an integral part of the family.
The Area Representative helps to properly recruit, screen, and interview prospective host families, helps the family select a student with similar interests, and contacts the appropriate administrator to ensure school acceptance. In addition, the Area Representative holds an orientation meeting for host families prior to the student’s arrival and an orientation meeting for the student within two weeks after their arrival. Throughout the year, the Representative contacts both the host family and the student each month to see that all is going well and plans three social or recreational activities and/or holiday gatherings for students and families. Evaluations are completed monthly during the exchange year, evaluating the student’s adjustment to their host family, school, and community.
World Heritage local representatives volunteer about 2-4 hours per month/student. This depends on how actively you choose to be involved. Each area representative is asked to place a minimum of two students in the local area through networking and contacts. Representatives receive an initial placement fee of $250 per student placed in late September and a final supervising fee of $250 per student cared for, after the students depart in the summer (assuming all requirements are met) [Note: Semester placement reimbursement is $250 placement fee in September and $75 supervising fee received in February after student departs.] Representatives can also earn bonuses for placing more than the required number of students by a specified date.
If you are interested in becoming a local representative, we would love for you to join our reputable team of dedicated volunteers. Please call our office at 1-800-888-9040.
