Children's Services Auxiliary
The mission of the Children's Services Auxiliary, a nonprofit 501 C3 organization, is to meet the unmet needs of Ventura County's court-dependent children.
Description:
The Children's Services Auxiliary works closely with Ventura County Children and Family Services to identify needs of the foster children that are not being met through any other sources.
At the holidays, the Auxiliary sponsors some holiday projects that in addition to the foster children, needy children throughout the county are served. The Giving Tree Project at the Pacific View Mall and The Oaks Mall needs many volunteers this time of the year. In addition, volunteers are needed at the "Holiday Toy Store" where the toys are distributed to the caregivers for the children.
History:
The Children's Services Auxiliary was started in the early 1980's and is an all volunteer organization. The Community Services Coordinator for Children and Family Services is the liaison to the Children's Services Auxiliary and assists the organization with administrative tasks.
