    The Salvation Army is an international organization that meets the physical and spiritual needs of people in 109 countries around the globe and nearly 1,400 communities across America.

    Nationwide, we assist more than 42 million individuals throughout the year - more than six million of those during the holiday season alone.

    During the holidays, The Salvation Army in Southern California fixes food and toy baskets for 270,000 families, serves 600,000 meals, visits more than 70,000 in hospitals and health care facilities and provides 50,000 orders of groceries.

    Eighty-five cents of every dollar you donate to The Salvation Army Southern California goes to support homeless and low-income men, women and children in need.

    In the course of a year, The Salvation Army in Southern California serves more than one million people with programs that include adult day care, a residential facility for homeless families affected by HIV/AIDS, youth centers for at-risk children, alcohol/drug rehabilitation, homeless shelters and affordable housing for seniors.

    The Salvation Army operates a Missing Persons Service, which reunites more than 2,000 people annually.

    The first ministry of The Salvation Army in the United States opened in 1880. Today,The Salvation Army has been in Southern California for over 100 years. The Southern California Division of the Army covers the region between San Luis Obispo County and Orange County. With more than 60 churches and program units, we provide a wide variety of services and worship styles.
