    Agency Details:

    Global Water

Global Water is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization focused on developing safe water supplies and related sanitation/hygiene facilities for rural villages in developing countries.

    Description:
Founded in 1982, Global Water is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status in the United States.
We’re focused on creating safe water supplies, sanitation facilities and hygiene-related facilities for rural villagers in developing countries. We believe the lack of safe drinking and agricultural water and lack of access to sanitation facilities are the root causes of hunger, disease and poverty throughout the world.
Our water projects have an immediate life-changing impact, particularly to women and children, who have the responsibility in rural areas of developing countries to gather water for the family every day of their lives.
Successful Global Water projects utilize water and sanitation as a tool to create sustainable socioeconomic development in these poor rural communities.

    History:
GLOBAL WATER was founded in 1982 by former U.S. Ambassador John McDonald and Dr. Peter Bourne to help save the lives of people in developing countries that are lost due to unclean water.
Up until 10 years ago, the Global Water organization was focused on increasing awareness of water problems in the developing world.
For the past 10 years, the Global Water organization has become an “implementer” of water equipment and technologies that can help rural populations of developing countries. The true history of Global Water can be found on our website (www.globalwater.org) as it is written in the Progress Reports that describe the water/sanitation/hygiene projects conducted over the past five years.
